Bio:
A third generation pro wrestler, “Dastardly” Damien Demento has always had an easy time finding his niche in the topsy-turvy world of pro wrestling. This is especially true in Japan where his father ("Lighting" Keiji Demento) and grand-father ("Blood Wolf" Hisakatsu Demento), both made a name for themselves dismantling opponents in All-Japan's lower mid-card for the better part of 3 decades.
Although his father and grand-father had worked with him since birth to harness his unlimited potential, Demento nevertheless took the opportunity to train at the All Japan dojo when the chance to do so arose. This opened his eyes to the greater world of puroresu and to the amount of money that could be made if he applied himself. Because of his previous training, Demento quickly gained a contract with All Japan and began plying his trade in the lower mid-card as his father and grand-father had done before him.
On the even of his 25th birthday, an event transpired that would forever change his life. While driving home from a particularly vicious beating at the hands of a young Kenta Kobashi, Demento failed to notice that he was running a red light (and who could blame him? He suffered 3 half nelson suplexes AND 3 burning lariats that night...) and was side-impacted by a commuter bus. Thankfully, his medical insurance coverage was excellent and his father had just won the lottery. These 2 facts combined together allowed Demento to be operated on by one of the greatest physicians working in Japan at the time, Dr. Arianna Blood. His right arm past the elbow could not be saved, but with Dr. Blood in the operating room, this was not a problem. Using dark magiks and arcane medical techniques, she managed to graft a bionic forearm and hand onto the stump.
To make use of his new, and legal, foreign object, Demento altered his move set to include a devastating submission hold he'd been working on but had never managed to master, the Iron Claw (which he dubs the "Bionic Face Lift"). This was not the only way his arsenal changed however. He also added moves that affected the head/neck area and discarded all others which did not. His move set went from traditional/technical holds to mostly head attacks.
When Demento finally made his return to an All Japan ring, the effect was devastating. His opponent on the night, "Dr. Cruelty" Steel James, suffered a head injury the likes of which cannot be described in mere words. First the crowd, and then AJPW turned on Demento and forced him to retire from the promotion. With no prospects left in Japan due to AJPW’s black-balling, Demento made his way to his mother's country, the good ol' U.S. of A., and actively began trying to find work in any wrestling promotion that would have him.
Luckily for Demento, that call came quickly, with Juan Hefe, the mastermind behind the MWA, looking to add talent to his promotion.
Now, with the MWA Television Championship firmly around his waist, Demento feels like he's finally reached the top of the mountain. Only time will tell if greater things still wait for him on the other side...
Update:
June 1st, 2005
Since losing the MWA Television title to Vertigo, Demento's career has taken a turn for the worse as he's now embroiled in a feud with Jimmy King, a former friend who's now hell bent on gaining power in the MWA, at anyone's expense.
Demento's final words after his last appearance in an MWA ring could prove to be King's downfall however...
Don't hunt what you can't kill...
June 3rd, 2005
After attacking Jimmy King at the June 3rd show, Demento then shocked all in attendance when he threw away his shot at ever gaining the NMHC Heavyweight title, claiming that only suckers would want that belt.
Next up for the "Dastardly One" is a shot at Jimmy King in a steel cage at the June 10th show.
October 14th, 2005
Demento lost his hair in a vicious battle against Johnny Knockout on the October 14th, 2005 show.
