Juan Hefe is calmly sipping a cup of Tim Horton's coffee when his cell phone starts ringing.
"You have reached the master-mind of the MWA, Juan Hefe. How may I help you?"
On the other end of the phone is Shinya Hashimoto, promoter of Pro Wrestling Zero-One (an NWA affiliate).
"Mister Juan Hefe have you thought about the proposal I sent to you last month?"
Could it be? Juan Hefe had been dreaming of this moment since he'd gotten that proposal. Excitedly, he gets up and walks over to the door of his office, closing and locking it.
"Yes I have, Mr Hashimoto. Are we all set to go?"
"Indeed we are. We've set up a venue for you to showcase your promotion on June 17th. Is that too soon for you?"
Juan Hefe's eyebrows shoot up at the mention of the date.
"The 17th! Of June! I thought we'd discussed a fall tour?"
"That wouldn't work. The time to strike is now, before the gigantic NOAH show on July 18th. Everything after that will change in Japan, Hefe. Everything."
Hefe rubs his chin and starts making calculations in his head.
"Ok, but I can't promise what talent I'll have available on such short notice. All my champions for sure, but I'll have to ask."
"Very well, just as long as you manage to book at least 5 matches per show, I am content."
Hefe's shoulders slump as he realizes something else, he can't travel to Japan that soon, there are still... circumstances... preventing him from doing so. Quickly, he thinks of someone else who can the job just as well as he.
"Mr. Hashimoto, I will not be able to participate in this tour, but I'm assigning my most trusted and reliable worker to take the booking mantle in my stead, 'The LIFTOR' John Curry."
Hashimoto exclaims something unintelligible and then starts babbling excitedly.
"The LIFTOR?!? Here?!? And with the powers of a booker?!? Oh Hefe San, you aren't as stupid as they say!"
"Uh, thanks. So I take it this isn't a problem?"
"Are you kidding? The problem would have been if you were the booker, this guarantees sell-outs. Thank you Mr. Hefe, I will speak to you shortly."
Click.
"Sayonara Hashimoto."
Juan Hefe walks back to his desk and sits down in his chair. After a moment of pause, he dials a number in his cell phone and waits for his target to pick up.
"Curry? Have I got a proposal for you!"
