Juan Hefe hasn't been seen all week and now things start to get interesting as "Filthy" Rich Burton, the man who is in charge in just such an emergency, takes command of the show.
On top of Hefe being AWOL, the NMHC Heavyweight title is also missing, leading some to believe that it will be vacated by Burton tonight, to protect its prestige from whatever shenanigans the UCW faction have in store for it..
With all of the chaos surrounding the MWA right now, it's hard to say what the card will look like tonight, but rest assured that it will be exciting!
Join us this Friday at the Moncton Coliseum for a night you will not soon forget!

Backstage at the Moncton Coliseum"Filthy" Rich Burton is nervously holding a clipboard and pacing back and forth while newly crowned MWA US Heavyweight Champion Ted Tsavales follows him in silence. What in the hell are we going to do Ted? I haven't heard from Hefe since last Friday! I think there's a title match for the juniorweight belt, but after that, I have no clue whatsoever. Ted Tsavales adopts a thoughtful pose and slams a fist in the nearest wall. Where the hell are the caterers! I need pie! Burton is about to reply when his cellphone starts ringing with the tone he reserved for Juan Hefe's number. He excitedly answers the call he's been waiting for for seven days. Thank God boss! Where the hell are you?!? Juan Hefe's voice on the other end of the call is strained and makes Rich Burton increasingly panicked. They're all signed to contracts? And they're all getting title shots? What the hell? Burton shuts up as Juan Hefe gives him more instructions. After a brief pause, Burton continues his questions. The NMHC Heavyweight title is vacated? Lawless is fighting for it? Before Burton can ask any more questions, the call is disconnected and a hand taps him on the shoulder. Burton turns around, expecting to see Tsavales behind him, but instead finding "The Regulator" Seth Lawless!

-Johnny Knockout-
While Seth is talking to Rich, Johnny starts approching behind Seth quietly, however Seth notices Rich looking at Johnny behind him and quickly turns around and attepts a chokeslam on Johnny, but he ducks out of the way and attempts a lariat only to get caught in a chokeslam hold.
Seth: "Hey Johnny, just to make sure your not fighting for the belt tonight"
Seth proceeds to chokeslam Johnny onto some steel chairs.

[glow=green,2,300]*BOOM*[/glow]
"Last" by nine inch nails comes on and Vertigo walks to the ring. He gives some high fives as he makes his way down to the ring. After rolling into the ring he poses for a minute then grabs a mic.
"I am here for a couple of reasons, first of all, after his cowardly attack last week, I'm here to challenge Jericho Black on behalf of my wife, Brooke. She really wants to break something on you.
"I am personally and professionally insulted by repeatedly being left out of the world title picture. So tonight I'm gonna do something about it. I am issuing The Vertigo ChallengeTM. Knockout, Lawless, or Liftor. I want your spot. I - WANT - THAT - TITLE!"
Vertigo slams down the mic and waits for some kind of response.

And he gets it.
"ARE YOU READY?!"
The DX theme hits as LIFTOR walks out onto the ramp. He's not angry at all. He's calm, cool, relaxed. He walks out. Not storming or stomping or running or anything. Just calmly walks out. The music fades as he holds up the mic.
"Vertigo, Vertigo, man...You're pissed. I can tell that. Shit, we can all tell. You want back in the title picture. I understand that. For a long time, I wasn't in the picture, because I was running the whole show. But now I'm back....and so is Seth Lawless."
The crowd lets out a mess of boos, and Curry cracks up. He settles down and brings the mic back up.
"This whole thing, V, it's all messed up. It's screwy as hell. We got UCW guys and they're in the parking lots and in the audience and backstage pissing their pants, and now--they've got contracts? What the hell? And now they want to come in here and do all this shit with us?"
"It doesn't make any sense, V. And right now I think the important thing is for MWA to stay *united* amongst these UCW invaders...Because if we sit here fighting amongst each other, then we will be weak, and UCW can cripple us in an instant."
He looks to the crowd for a moment, then back down at the ring.
"I offer you a proposition. For the time being we form an alliance. A stable of sorts, I guess. You help me out with these UCW creepazoids and when they're trash on the streets again...you get your title shot. But in the mean time, hell, we actually have to figure out who 'has' the title."
He waits for a moment as Vertigo leans over and picks up the mic he threw down.
"So? You in, or you out, V?"

After Lawless chokeslamed Knockout...
Lawless looks stands over Knockout, who is still squirming on the steel chair after the viscious chokeslam
Lawless calmly mutters,
"...my regulation...."
Lawless turns his head and look at Rich Burton. Burton is backed up against the wall with his hands holding out before him while slowly shaking his head - gesturing he doesn't want any trouble.
"...your way, your rules..."
Lawless smirks an evil grin

Vertigo holds the mic in his hand and stares down at the mat, thinking. He looks around at the fans and then towards Liftor.
"So let me get this straight, you want an alliance with me? And you are also telling me that, once we deal with the UCW contingent, I get my shot? Well that all sounds great, except you are assuming that you will be the champion when the smoke clears. You are assuming that the UCW will fall on it's face and be obliterated. Well there is one thing that I know, and that is that when your back is to the wall, when your career is on the line, your family's wellfare's at stake, that's when you achieve miracles. That is when you shock the world.
"So I offer you this advice, be careful John. And if it means a shot at the gold somewhere down the line, then I've got your back. The Green Team and The Currination can work together to stem the tide of UCW insurgancy.
"I accept your offer. But I still need a match tonight. So since the UCW guys are all supposedly signed to contracts now, I am issuing the Vertigo ChallengeTM to any former UCW wrestler. It's going to be my way though. You want to make a splash, you guys want to make an impact. Then it's going to be my specialty. Whoever has the balls, enter my world and learn a very hard and painful lesson. Cause tonight the Challenge is a Steel Cage.
"Quake in terror, shiver with anticipation, and writhe in agony at the touch of Vertigo!"

((OOC: I unfortunately won't have time to sim this card tonight or this weekend, so the events occuring on it will be pushed to next Friday's card. Keep role-playing for it, but keep that in mind. It'll be like a hiccup in the space-time continuum.))

(((OOC - hiccup)))
-Jericho Black-
The lights go down and a bright spotlight comes on up on the stage. "Stillborn" by Black Label Society comes on and Jericho Black walks into the light. It follows him to the ring, the only light in the arena. As he climbs the steps into the ring he stops and climbs the turnbuckles, sitting on the top rope. He pulls a mic from his waistband and the music stops.
"I have fought the Green Team for weeks now and I am sick as hell of it. I want a match with a Juniorweight. So since I can't go to Juan Hefe, I guess I'll just make a challenge. Ryan Kilst, get your bitch ass out here and fight me!"

"Dastardly" Damien Demento PromoSlayer's Reign in Blood blasts the flimsy arena speakers to shreds and announces the arrival of the baldest, and baddest member of the MWA, "Dastardly" Damien Demento. The crowd boos his arrival, but Demento does not care in the least, he is here for business. He doesn't even glance at the fans as they throw their garbage in his face as he walks to the ring. Climbing in, he glances back at the ramp-way and raises the mic to his face. Green Jeans! I came out here to answer your challenge, let's make it tonight instead of Delirium! Rich Burton and Ted Tsavales -- BackstageRich Burton hands his clipboard to Ted Tsavales and shakes his hand. You're the bravest one of us Ted, I think you're the perfect choice to announce these matches tonight. Tsavales looks at the match listings and shakes his head. The boys in back aren't going to like this one bit Rich. I mean, all of the UCW guys are going for the gold tonight! Rich claps Ted on the back and smiles reassuringly. Don't worry about it Ted, before you go out to the ring, I'll go have a chat with the boys in the locker room, so they'll be prepared. Ted breathes out a sigh of relief and starts walking towards ringside. Thanks Rich, you're the best. I'll go get ready to deliver this promo then. Burton waves at his lumbering and idiotic friend and walks toward the locker room. As soon as Tsavales is out of sight, Burton keeps walking past the locker room, out of the arena and to his car. He takes off without looking back. Sucker.

Ted Tsavales PromoThe giant figure of Ted Tsavales lumbers to the ring without pyro or music to accompany him. He holds Rich Burton's clipboard in one hand and a microphone in the other. He climbs through the ropes and stands in the middle of the ring, nervously clearing his throat. Finally, as he is about to start speaking, Metallica's Master of Puppets starts up and silences the crowd, who notice belatedly that Tsavales is already standing in the ring. Greetings ladies and gentlemen. I have an announcement to make concerning tonight's card. The crowd noise dials itself down another level allowing Tsavales to speak unhindered. Without hesitation, Tsavales begins reading from the clipboard. By decree of Juan Hefe and through the wisdom of Rich Burton, the MWA is proud to present the following championship matches tonight:
- For the MWA Television title, Chris Revolution will defend against Maxx Carnage!
- The MWA Tag-Team champs, Vertigo and Dark, will face Alexi and Bane Brezhnev, in a Moncton Street Fight.
- And finally, a battle for the vacated NMHC Heavyweight title will take place featuring 2 competitors from the MWA and 2 competitors from UCW in a fatal four way!
The crowd explodes in a frenzy of cheering and delirious excitement. Ted Tsavales, perhaps stupidly, remains in the ring and awaits whatever reaction is coming his way from the backstage area.

We Don't Die hits and the fans all jump to there feet as the current NMHC Juniorweight Champion, Matt "Ganja Man" Pierce walks through the curtain and makes his way down to the ring. Ted stands in the ring, watching on as Pierce enters the ring and raises his title above his head as the fans cheer. Matt 'gently' grabs the mic from Ted's hand...
Ganja Man: "Whoa, whoa, whoa...I think there's just one match you either forgot about or just didn't want to book. You see, I laid down a challenge to Damien Demento and it was accepted. So, if you would, please tell me why you think to tell all these fans about my Submission match tonight? I don't want to sound self-centered, but come on, Demento and I have only stepped into the ring one time...he defeated me...but now it's time for Round II, how could you let that slip your mind?"

Tsavales quickly looks at his clipboard and back to "Ganja Man". But that ain't on here Matt! Burton won't be too pleased if I steer away from his plan! "Ganja Man" doesn't have time to reply as Slayer's Reign in Blood drowns out anything he might have said. Walking like a man possessed towards the ring, "Dastardly" Damien Demento wastes no time in stating his intent. Get out of the ring Tsavales, I've got a midget to destroy. Without any further ado, Demento rushes the ring and attacks the "Ganja Man"...

The Maritime Wrestling Alliance Presents... Friday Night Afterburn (November 4th, 2005) Venue: Moncton Coliseum (Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada) Attendance: 7,901
NMHC Heavyweight Championship / MWA Tag-Team Championship / MWA Television Championship Pierce versus Demento II: 30 Minute Iron Man Submission Match1. "Ganja Man" Matt Pierce versus "Dastardly" Damien DementoIn a battle of speed, technical prowess and resilience versus brute strength and savagery, "Ganja Man" proved that the former would almost trump the latter. Pierce focused on the legs and head of Demento to give him an 11-5 victory. Demento seemed to have the match in hand at many points but instead of going for the submission, he focused on putting "Ganja Man" through hell. One particular sequence saw Pierce dumped on his head 4 consecutive times, with Demento forgetting or perhaps refusing to go for the submission. Winner by a score of 11 to 5, "Ganja Man" Matt Pierce! NMHC Juniorweight Number One Contender Match2. Jericho Black versus "Flame Enforcer" Ryan KilstFresh off his feud with the Green Team and needing to recharge his batteries, the "Bruiser-Weight" goes to battle against the "Flame Enforcer" in a battle to determine a new number one contender for the NMHC Juniorweight Championship. Kilst hit a trifecta of release german suplexes and then capitalized on that with a super bomb to give him the pin at 6:27. Winner and new number one contender for the NMHC Juniorweight Championship, "Flamer Enforcer" Ryan Kilst! MWA Television Championship Match3. Chris Revolution (c) versus Maxx CarnageThe first 'official' bout in the MWA versus UCW war did not disappoint and Maxx Carnage drew first blood with his victory over Chris Revolution. The end came at 4:17 when Carnage unleashed Total Carnage on Chris Revolution, ending his TV title reign. Winner and new MWA Television Champion, Maxx Carnage! MWA Tag-Team Championship Match4. Vertigo (c) and "The Dark Angel" James Dark (c) versus Alexi and Bane BrezhnevMWA's unlikely tag-team champions put up a brave fight against the Russian invaders, but it wasn't enough as the Brezhnevs fought back and gained the victory at 4:00 when Bane gave "The Dark Angel" an Avalanche Brain-Buster to get the 1-2-3. Winners and new MWA Tag-Team Champions, Alexi and Bane Brezhnev! Fatal Fourway for the NMHC Heavyweight Championship5. "The LIFTOR" John Curry versus Johnny Knockout versus "The Regulator" Seth Lawless versus "The Alaskan Assassin" Sean LonewolfLawless, who with Jimmy King's help abducted Juan Hefe and the NMHC Heavyweight Championship two weeks ago, came to the ring wearing the fabled title around his waist. He came accompanied by Lonewolf, who would be his "partner" during the match. The MWA was represented by "The LIFTOR" John Curry and Johnny Knockout. The battle got very heated in the early going with LIFTOR actively fighting Knockout and Lawless actively fighting Lonewolf. The first man eliminated was Lonewolf at 5:18 via a Knockout Lariat by "Mister MWA", Johnny Knockout. Seth Lawless then Regulated Johnny Knockout at 8:32 setting up the stage for LIFTOR versus Lawless... which was really uneventful as Lawless was already on his last legs due to a Knockout Lariat he'd suffered less than 2 minutes before Regulating Knockout. LIFTOR capitalized on this and delivered a kidney crushing pendulum back breaker for the win at 8:37. Winner and new NMHC Heavyweight Champion, "The LIFTOR" John Curry!

Chris Revolution gets up as Maxx Carnage celebrates in the ring. He shakes off the cobwebs and starts to argue with the referee. He then rolls out of the ring, grabs a mic, and looks up at Carnage as he holds it up.
"You cheated me, you bastard!"
The crowd is confused for a moment. Carnage won clean. A few members in the back start a "WTF?" chant.
"Yeah, you cheated me out of my title! Yeah! You used an illegal move, a Crucifix Powerbomb! Everybody knows that I'm weak to Crucifix Powerbombs! They're all hurty and not legal against me, and stuff! It's in my contract! Yeah! It is! Go read it!!"
Revolution is obviously grasping at straws, and gives up his attempt to restart the match.
He drops the mic, slides into the ring, and bashes Carnage in the face. He then picks him up in a front facelock, waits a moment, and...REVOLUTION CUTTER! Revolution looks down at his now fallen opponent and throws up the Cutter signal as Revolution Calling hits the speakers. He may not have the belt, but he's done some damage.

After the main eventAs LIFTOR is celebrating in the ring, Metallica's Master of Puppets begins bringing a shush to the crowd who are still celebrating their hero's victory. As the curtain parts, an audible gasp courses throughout the arena as Juan Hefe's limp form is thrown to the ground. A few seconds later, Jimmy King steps out and stands over Hefe with a mic in his hand. Hey LIFTOR, great job winning the belt. Keep it nice and shiny, because my new friends and I are coming for it. LIFTOR just shrugs in the ring and adopts a battle stance. Now, now LIFTOR, let's not get too excited. As he says this, King steps into Hefe with a vicious soccer kick. Yeah, we don't need your garbage anymore now that we have what we need. Be seeing you John.

Just then Vertigo comes charging out of the curtain with Brooke & Ganja. Vertigo and King exchange blows as Brooke and Ganja attend to Hefe, moving him out of the way. King catches Vertigo with a solid shot that staggers him. Instead of pushing the advantage King backs away through the curtain, seeing Liftor making his way towards the fray.
Brooke & Ganja call for help from the back for Hefe.
