After the show's opening sequence, the lights fade to black. The entire arena is engulfed in darkness as the entire crowd begins to cheer loudly, chanting one phrase: "Revolution Calling!"
A spiffy new golden and red splash image appears on the big screen, with a simple message in white letters, surrounded by a pale gold glow...
"Countdown To Revolution"
The number five then appears beneath it and slowly counts down to one as the crowd chants along...Three....Two...ONE...
"REVOLUTION CALLING!"
The totally packed crowd stands up on its feet and chants along as the line from Queensryche's
Revolution Calling hits. It then changes, however, to the opening drumline and guitar from the intro track,
Anarchy-X...
As the opening goes on, the big screen switches over to a backstage view of a locker room door, with the yellow and black "Mindcrime" logo on it, and the words...
Revolution Rising. The door handle turns and then the door swings open. Luke Devlin appears from behind it, wearing his 'Risen Dragon' t-shirt. He holds the door open as Fromunda walks through the doorway...and then, the man of the night appears.
Chris Revolution stands in the doorway for a brief moment, wearing his new 'Revolution Calling' t-shirt with the sleeves cut off, and resting on his right shoulder...The No Mercy Honoured Crown Heavyweight Championship.
A black leather strap holding three shining golden plates, the center one holding a bright chrome-based plate, with a gold centerpiece and nameplate--'CHRIS REVOLUTION' printed in a fancy font, and across the top, the name of the belt, shown in a shiny dark black lettering along with the NMHC logo in red. This is "the NMHC," one of the most coveted and prized titles in both the American and Canadian Independent scene. Winning this title 'means' something--it's the virtual equivalent of having beaten every major competitor in the MWA 'and' the now-defunct SWF. And now, it rests on Christopher Revolution's shoulder.
Revolution walks through the hallways, leading the Revolution Rising to the stage.
Anarchy-X reaches the end and leads right into the opening chords of
Revolution Calling as Luke Devlin and Fromunda enter to the rampway, the lights in the arena still off as they do so. And then, Chris Revolution slowly enters and turns his back to the ring as the entire arena very slowly becomes engulfed in the familiar golden light. Revolution steadily rises his arms up as the brightly shining gold stage lights pop on, focusing on him. He forms the Cutter signal with his hands in the air--and a good portion of the crowd imitates him. And then Revolution spins around and throws it down harder than he ever has before--
*BANG!!!*A huge yellow and red pyrotechnics display hits the stage, illuminating even the furthest corners of the arena. The crowd sings along with every word of the song as Revolution slowly walks down the ramp, followed by his two stable mates.
Revolution slides into the ring on his stomach and then throws up the Cutter signal again, and then quickly tosses it down again. He gets up on one of the turnbuckles and holds up the belt for a moment. As he gets down, Sound Guy hands him a microphone. He takes it and waits for a moment as the theme fades out. Then, the newly crowned NMHC Heavyweight champ speaks.
"For those of you that missed Afterburn, you may be slightly confused. So I'll clear things up. Last Friday, I kicked the big green ass of Vertigo--and when he was exhausted, literally unable to even stand up straight?
CUTTER!!! BANG!!!"
The crowd cheers as Revolution spats out his catchphrase, and Fromunda imitates him--"Cutter! Bang! Yellow!"
"And then I followed that Revolution Cutter up with a very devastating Super Fisherman Brainbuster....And then our own John Curry, the LIFTOR, counted the one-two-three, and I became the new NMHC. I beat the man...And now, I 'am' the man." He stops and turns. "And don't think I'm gonna lose it to Vertigo tonight, either. Or this Friday at Afterburn. Or, well, ever. Because like I said last week...Ain't gonna be no rematch. Vertigo cannot have a match with me for the NMHC for this entire reign. The only way he can challenge me for it is if I lose, and regain it."
He looks at another section of the crowd with a large letter sign spelling out "REVOLUTION." Another fan holds up a sign with a hand drawn picture of Revolution holding the NMHC, and coloured in. He nods and smiles a little bit at the female fan holding the sign, and then winks. Then he continues his promo.
"The Revolution RIsing may have officially formed just one month ago, but Vertigo had been using his power in the MWA to oppress the likes of myself, Fromunda, Devlin, and so many others for far longer. The difference between them and us is that we had the guts, the determination, and the belief in a real cause to take down Vertigo. We have shown that we will not be manipulated and used by somebody who's gotten drunk with power!! If you oppress a group of people long enough, they revolt--And There Will Be A Revolution. And our Revolution is Rising...Now that we have the NMHC, Vertigo cannot keep his stranglehold on the main events any longer. Now, anyone can challenge for my belt, and they will have a valid shot."
And then Revolution glances at his stable mates, and lets out a laugh. "Of course, I'll end up kicking their asses anyway. Because I'm just that good." And then the crowd cheers.
Revolution looks at the stage now. "But before anyone issues a title challenge to me, I'm going to call on somebody myself for my first title defense on March 24th. And that person is none other than the reigning NMHC Juniourweight champion, 'The Risen Dragon' Luke Devlin!"
Revolution turns to Devlin, who has a look of pure surprise on his face. "Devlin, you came in here just a few months ago, and you immediately made a splash. So of course, you were a target for Vertigo and Brooke, and then 'Ganja Man' Matt Pierce. But then you struck back against all of them...You dug up the dirt on Vertigo's love affair with Traci Brooks. You sent Ganja Man to rehab. You became the Vice President in charge of Delerium. And your efforts reminded me of the original reason I came to the MWA...And now? Now, we have the NMHC Heavyweight and Juniourweight, as well as control of Delerium...And we have an ally in the LIFTOR. We've reached the top, Devlin...And I want to see if you can beat me."
Devlin looks at Revvie for a moment as he approaches. Revvie extends his other hand to Devlin for a handshake. "So what do you say, Dragonboy--Me. You. 24th. Afterburn. The NMHC. On the line. You in, or you out?"
Devlin extends his hand and then tilts the mic towards him with his other. "I'm in."
They shake on the deal and look at each other in a moment, and then Revvie turns away to a section of the crowd. "And one last thing before I head out there to sign some autographs, take pictures, whatever you guys want--Today, Tuesday, March 14th, my favourite band in existance, Queensryche, released a sequel to my favourite album of all time,
Operation: Mindcrime, called Operation: Mindcrime II. I've already bought copies of the album and given them out to all my best friends, and now I'm going to throw one into the crowd. Fromunda?"
Fromunda fiddles around in his pockets for a moment, and then puts his arm in the air as if remembering something, and exclaims "POTATO!" He then reaches directly down his crotch and pulls out a copy of Mindcrime II, and gives it to Revolution. Some fans in the front row act disgusted, but Revvie reassures them...
"It's okay, he's got a pocket inside there. Or something. I know, I bought him those pants..."
Revvie then tosses the album out into the crowd, and an attractive looking woman catches it, followed by a scream of "I LOVE YOU REVVIE!"
Revolution then smirks and says "Alright, now we're gonna go out and make you fans here feel welcome...We're going to take pictures, and sign autographs, t-shirts, breasts, what have you..."
Fromunda then unexpectedly screams out, "BREASTS!" This cracks Devlin up, and Revvie laughs a little bit too...
"Okay...Hit the music!"
Queensryche's
Hostage from their new album hits the speaker system as Revvie throws up the Cutter symbol one last time and throws it down with a BANG, and then he he rolls out of the ring and pulls out a black Sharpie and starts signing autographs, taking pictures, etc.... Then the woman from earlier with the hand drawn Revolution poster has moved to the front, and he looks at her for a moment, and then says something to her. He picks in his tights for a moment and then gives her a backstage pass, and says, noticably, "Meet me back there later..."
