The camera cuts to a familiar, darkened area, with pipes and boilers scattered across the dull brick walls; the boiler room. In the darkest corner of the room, something tall and metallic catches the faint sliver of light that illuminates the boiler room via the sky light. The camera pans upwards, and the structure of a familiar aluminum ladder is now visible. Atop the ladder sits a dark haired figure, head hung in thought. From the distinct ring attire, it is clear that it is none other than the three-time NMHC Juniorweight Champion, "The Risen Dragon" Luke Devlin.
"It's been a while", Devlin pipes up, his head still bowed, "since I've been down here. Dark. Dank. Bleak. Perfect for quiet, unbreakble thought and reflection. Nothing to stir me from my thoughts." He pauses for a while, as Devlin cracks his knuckles, and sighs. "I'm a deep thinker. I often explore the most distant corners of my mind, trying to make sense of it all. Everything. Nature. Emotion. Fear. God.
"I'm a God-fearing man. I am aware of a greater presence, something greater than wealth, lust, anger, anything beyond human comprehension. And I believe that God is just. And I believe that God has the potency to put us in places for a reason of his choosing. I believe he designates us with purposes. Duties." Devlin stops again, and begins to laugh. His jarring laugh echoes around the dark confines of the boiler room.
"I have a duty. A God-given duty. Matthew Pierce, you, are a sinner. And I am to deliver upon you God's wrath- with my own methods. In that ring tonight, or wherever we may go during our No Holds Barred match, I will exact justice upon you. I don't want to hurt you. But it must be. What do you fear, Pierce? God? If anything, I suggest you fear me. Because I am focused. I am in a zone of my own. And I will... punish you.
"And as for the NMHC Juniorweight Championship; I believe that it was not to be, for me, or for Pierce. For my task is to first silence and strike down Matthew Pierce. And then, I will be rewarded. I shall take what is mine from one Jericho Black. Black, you and I have history. But let us not dwell on that. This is a different scenario altogether. I am still hungry for that title, and when I am done with Pierce- I'm coming after you." And with that, Devlin disappears from the scene.
