John Curry was seen leaving the office building known to house Nick Onslaught, a semi-wealthy wrestling agent who has recently been talked about in reports regarding a new independant wrestling promotion being started.
Reporters asked Curry what he was doing there.
"Onslaught is thinking of starting a wrestling promotion. I simply checked in to wish a rival company the best of luck. And truth be told, I wanted to tell him that his ass had better not take MWA's spot as the top independant promotion in the world today."
Internet Smart-Mark and semi-unofficial MWA supporter Onslaught Six had this to say:
"That Nick Onslaught guy can't be all that bad. He uses my name, even, so hell."
Also, Curry was asked about the three week hiatus of MWA TV.
"I've taken three weeks to get a show on the road, but I assure you all, August 12th, 2005, Maritime Wrestling Alliance re-debuts 'Afterburn,' containing a whole new format. I've made a few changes around there--hopefully for the better."
When LIFTOR was asked about his wrestling status, he had this to say:
"I am still going to actively compete in the MWA, despite now being the owner/operator. This doesn't mean I'm going to use my 'backstage powers' and instantly push myself to the moon. I'm still going to have to earn everything I do here in the MWA. In fact, beyond the Sunday Night Delirium tournament, I will not be participating in any title matches for a period of two months, unless extreme circumstances take place."
